Super-soft, comfortable and stylish; three words that perfectly describe what all maternity wear should be and Crave maternity clothes certainly fit the bill.
There’s something about good maternity wear, it’s softer, more skin-friendly than non-maternity wear. Maybe it’s because we’re more sensitive to the touch, or maybe we’re just more grateful when something does feel and look good but I’m sure the best maternity brands put extra care into their fabrics to make them just right for us mums-to-be.
So the first thing I thought when a dress from online maternity boutique Crave arrived chez CocoMama was that wonderful ahh it’s nice jersey feeling and then of course quick try it on before the toddler finds Mummy’s new ‘present’ and wants to play dressing-up!
The verdict
I’ve worn the twist seam midi dress (right) a few times now and not only does it fit well, it also washes perfectly. The print is almost camouflage-like and although from the Spring/Summer collection it’s bang on trend for Autumn – and now in the sale for £42.50!
The cut flatters without clinging and slight gathering on the bust nips the dress in to highlight your bump while the looser sleeves will be forgiving if you put on a few extra pounds!
Styling it up
I’ve teamed my dress with nude and white flats (shown here) and also with cream wedge sandals and a snake-effect belt worn with a draped fine knit cardi (below). When the weather cools it’ll be leggings and ankle boots all the way with a chunky knit or leather biker jacket on top.
