Real mama style finds mums and mums-to-be out and about doing, well, mummy type things and sneaks a peek at their outfit and finds out what their go-to brands are for their wardrobes and those of their little ones.
This time we have Kate, a Hair Stylist from Northants expecting her first baby later this Spring.
Where’s your outfit from?
Sunglasses, Ralph Lauren
T-shirt, H&M
Scarf, Seraphine (As worn by Jessica Alba!)
Blazer, Republic
Bag, my local independent bag shop, Lug-it.
Jeans, H&M
Boots, Next
What are the staple brands in your wardrobe?
H&M and Topshop. New Look has also been amazing and so reasonable.
What one item in your maternity wardrobe could you not live without?
My H&M maternity jeans. I’ve dressed them up with heels and dressy tops and can also dress them down with boots and jumpers, which is what I would have been wearing pre-pregnancy.
How has your style changed since becoming pregnant?
I really didn’t want to change my style too much during my pregnancy, I was worried everything would look frumpy and mumsy. But I’ve been so impressed, I recently bought some lovely dresses from ASOS. There are so many shops to choose from, not the limited selection I first thought.
Where have you shopped for baby clothes so far?
I have a few pieces from Mamas & Papas and lots of cute brands from smaller stores like Oliver Bonas and Twist (a great independent children’s clothes and toy shop in Balham, London).
