Daily dose: t-shirt & leggings

It would be great to have the time to completely change your outfit from comfy casual at home to a smarter look for going out but in reality it’s just not that easy. So here’s a look that won’t take a minute to complete as you rush out of the door, buggy or child in hand. Take your loungewear from sofa to street with just a few easy additions.

Throw on your favourite leggings and an oversized t-shirt in the morning and be comfortable enough to play with little ones and get your daily chores done.  Then if you’re off out for a mummy lunch or the school run add a light jersey blazer. It’s casual enough to work with the look but smart enough to lift the outfit to another level. Find a great boot that you’ll live in with jeans, dresses and leggings and add a finishing touch with a chunky cocktail ring.

If you’re a leggings novice but like this look, try a thicker style with panel sides like these. The subtle panels will give the illusion of slimmer legs and the heavier fabric is just as comfortable but will hold you in and bridge the gap between jersey leggings and trousers.

Jersey blazer, £40, and Leggings, £20, both River Island; Oversized tee, £25, Topshop; Ring, £10, Great Plains; Bag, £38, Accessorize; Studded boots, £69.99, Zara

  • Er… have you been watching me?? This is my ‘look’ pretty much every day!! I do own approx 17 million jackets, boots, scarves and handbags to mix it up a bit though 🙂 I like to call it ‘comfy chic’! x
