And so another London Fashion Week has been and gone, and while the focus should really be on next season’s designer collections, we’re all too busy thinking about the here and now and in our unpredictable weather situation, we can’t possibly think about the trends for next summer! Here’s where Street Style comes into its own and although some OTT looks may just serve to get the most street snaps under their belt, others showcase styling ideas which can actually translate into real (a.k.a non-fashiony) life.
I built a monochrome look around a grid print coat and added a splash of red. Out came my A/W staple leather leggings which I paired with a long, slouchy sweater (for comfort and bottom-coverage!)
Get the look
Throw-it-on style that works for early mornings and bad hair days alike.
Balance a relaxed knit with a slim, leather-look skirt and toughen it up with block-heel ankle boots.
Turn-up & lace-up
If this season’s crop of flares aren’t taking your fancy, keep your slim jeans current in a long length with turn-up. Lighter brogues keep it casual.
Mac ‘n’ jeans
A classic mac, dark flared jean and patent black loafer outfit combination is easy to wear and takes you from school run to weekend style with ease.
Denim and faux fur
Edge up a faux fur collar by teaming with denim for day time and add neck candy to complete the look.
Rough with the smooth
Mid-blue denim in a slouchy fit keeps it casual for on-the-run style while a patent finish to minimalist flats lifts it up a notch.
Of course my footwear was totally appropriate for the weather…
