Another day and another new collection launch, but don’t worry this isn’t going to become an ‘ooh it’s new, go and buy, buy, buy‘ habit on cocomamastyle.com because as you know, I like to bring you style ideas and inspiration to tweak your own wardrobe with just the added extras to complete a look (so you’ll find some outfit ideas below too!). But as one of the go-to brands for myself and my girls, H&M deserves a little mention as they launch their new H&M Studio collection today.
The Paris catwalk show back in February was attended by stylish mamas including Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba, undoubtedly two of my faves for celeb mama style inspiration. They just have that thrown-it-on but still looks cool vibe going on, and the best bit is it isn’t all designer brands as they are fans of the Swedish shopping giant too.
Described by the brand itself as capturing the look of the season: the “nonchalant attitude of the 21st century, mixing feminine with masculine styles”, this more directional collection includes ultra-feminine slip dresses and draped tops, ideal for teaming with men’s style blazers and jackets and contrasting luxe fabrics like silk, cashmere and velvet. You’ll also see faux fur coats and sequin details to make this new Studio collection stand out from the mainline rails.
Top picks
I took a sneak peek and picked out some of the more wearable items (silky lingerie-style shorts may look great on the catwalk but don’t really work for playgroup!). The mix of black, navy and khaki green with light grey and bright orange is pure autumnal heaven. Add in patent boots and some animal print and you’ve got yourself a well-rounded mini wardrobe for the season ahead. Read on for 4 looks combining the new Studio collection alongside basics from H&M’s regular collection.

Who said sequins should just be for night time? Break the rules and bring some sparkle to your day look with this sweatshirt dress. Wear with ankle boots and an over-sized coat. You can of course still dress it up for evening with heels; double-duty styling.
Zip sweatshirt, £24.99
With zipped shoulders not only is this an interesting twist on your average grey sweatshirt, it could just work for breast-feeding too.

A simple t-shirt shape in an animal-inspired print is easy to wear but lifts your look from a basic jersey tee.

Pointed pumps are everywhere aren’t they. Somehow, regular ballet flats just don’t seem to cut the sartorial mustard this season! x
