WIN | Mothercare maternity wardrobe and photoshoot

I’m thrilled to launch a competition in collaboration with Mothercare to offer one lucky mama-to-be a maternity photoshoot experience with a professional hair stylist and make-up artist, plus a capsule maternity collection from Mothercare, collated and styled for you, by me, Helen.

mothercare cocomamastyle competition

With so much change to your body and lifestyle during pregnancy, maintaining that sense of identity and feeling good about yourself is key to kickstarting motherhood with confidence.

I started cocomamastyle.com at the start of 2012 when my eldest daughter – and the blog’s namesake, Coco Lily – was just 9 months old and since then I’ve had a second daughter, so I know first hand what it’s like to dress a bump. I was a big fan of Mothercare maternity wear through both my pregnancies and still rave about their maternity jeans now! Add to this my decade of experience styling women for photoshoots and real life, both with and without bumps, and I think it’s safe to say the winner will be in capable hands.maternity | mothercare | competition | cocomamastyle

  • During my first pregnancy I was quite disappointed by the maternity ranges in some shops. Also, for some reason, I decided everything I wore had to be maternity clothing- why?! I felt like I lost my style and sense of identity. I was just a standard maternity wardrobe.
Now in my second pregnancy I have found that certain pieces have to be maternity- like jeans- and I love them. Those Classic maternity items are what the rest of my wardrobe is based around. And so many high street shops are providing more stylish items. But I can also find non maternity items to go with them. I feel I have more of my own style!

Following mum clothes bloggers and Instagram has also inspired me, and given me more confidence to dress in a more relaxed style. And to dress for my age- I’m still holding onto my 20s and shouldn’t be wearing frumpy maternity clothing just because im a mum!

I am however a long way from where I would want to be, maternity style wise. I always need more encouragement to wear colour, and to be bolder in my style choices. Also to consider which more tailored items go with baggier items. Because let’s face it, we all have one of those ‘I feel huge’ days during pregnancy (even if everyone says we are ‘glowing’)!

Coco mama style and mothercare please style me up!!

  • This competition couldn’t have popped up on my instagram feed at a better time.
I live in skinny jeans and they are not my friends right now. Skinnies and a bump don’t mix, who knew!?
My wardrobe is filled with clothes that are ME but I don’t fit into ME stuff and I actually feel a bit lost. The thought of a shopping trip should be exciting but I’m actually dreading it as I don’t know where to start. With baby brain kicking in, I’d probably be lost in the maternity clothes aisles for weeks without your help!

  • This is my first baby and I’m finding dressing for two a little challenging, it’s difficult to know what to get for now and how big you’re going to get! Also the boobs are causing an issue! lol
would love to win this prize 🙂 #MCDressMyBump #cocomamastyle
