Tick off three trends in one with this checked, eyelet pocket, tunic shirt in the Zara sale. Read on for reasons to love it and how to wear it…

quick style fix under £50 | zara sale shirt | gingham | tunic shirt | style tips | cocomamastyle

Loose check blouse, was £25.99 now £12.99, Zara

1. Gingham blow out

I wrote about oversized gingham checks at the end of last summer in my Fast Forward to SS16 trend report  and I hate to say I told you so, but, well, they’re here!

2. Eye, eye

Eyelets (those metal round holes punched through) on both clothes and accessories are a key detail that you’ll spot right across the high street now the season is in full swing – and mid-season sales already underway – on shoes, bags, tops and dresses. The detail on this shirt pocket adds interest without taking over and is less punky than recent seasons’ trends for studs, not to mention more baby-friendly. Remember the DIY studded denim shirt I wore? Looked great, not so good for toddler cuddles!

3. Shirt tales

And finally, the longer length shirt is a winner for skimming that tum while the open v-neck shows off a flattering flash of décolletage beneath.

If 3 trends in one wearable piece wasn’t enough, it’s only £12.99 in the sale.
You’re welcome.

Styling ideas

  • Wear with slim jeans and pointed flats or heels then tuck the shirt front in to elongate legs but keep the back loose. Roll the sleeve to show a flattering flash of wrist and pop on a couple of thin metallic bangles.
  • Play with proportions and go for an oversized silhouette by wearing this tunic shirt with wide leg navy trousers for a Fashion Editor-worthy style statement. Extra fashion brownie points for a cropped wide leg pant and box-fresh white trainers, or slider sandals when the weather warms up.
  • Add white jeans and metallic flats for a fresh spring look. Choose a bright, colour-block bag to finish your outfit.
