Outfit of the day | Valentine’s style

Matching leather outfits à la Mr & Mrs Beckham? No way. Double patchwork denim just like Justin & Britney? Never. But while putting this post together it did occur to me that my fiancé and I (a phrase which, by the way, I will never get used to saying so it’s a good job we’re getting hitched this year!) do have a similar style uniform.

If we’re looking for a smarter day look, we both grab our blazers and jeans and while his is more neutral and mine is generally brighter with added detail – I am the stylist of the pair after all – this easy formula is our go-to for elevating daytime style.

Stylist tips

  • Even in a block colour or neutral, a textured finish to a blazer will take the overall look up a notch.
  • Pair a bright blazer with darker colours underneath to tone it down, while a white top and light jeans will make the colour pop.
  • For an easy outfit formula combine: neutral + colour + print + texture.
  • Men’s style tip: a textured white shirt will update this wardrobe basic and a navy blazer will take him from day to night as a more stylish alternative to black. coco mama style | outfit of the day | valentines style | couple
