5 stylish winter warmers | plus bobble hat giveaway

George | cocomamastyle

As much as I adore the sun and warmer months, I do love autumn and winter fashion. Layering and boots offer so many options and there’s no need to worry about fake tanning and toning when you’re all wrapped up!

I was recently invited by George to a photo shoot with my pick of their current collections to style and model for the day so I’m sharing my favourites from the day with you. And at the end you’ll see how you can enter for your chance to WIN 1 of 5 fab bobble hats I picked out just for you!

1. The chunky knit

A chunky knit is not only an essential to keep us snug in the colder months, it’s also always on my must-have list at this time of year for sartorial reasons and it’s more versatile than you may think. I paired it with a faux leather pencil skirt and heels for a cosy-meets-glam look that would take you from Sunday lunch to relaxed evening drinks. This wide fit is balanced with a shorter length so it lends itself well to layering over a long vest or even a skinny roll neck.

Top tip: Keep the bottom half slimmed down with a voluminous top half.

2. The sparkly boot

Add a bit of sparkle to your day look or dress down an evening outfit in style and comfort with these glitter detail boots. The chunky block heel is high enough to add a little leg lengthening while still allowing dancing all night (or buggy pushing in the day!).

Top tip: Wear with opaque tights to elongate legs.George | cocomamastyle

3. The boyfriend knit

This knit is actually a men’s sweater so it has authentic ‘boyfriend’ properties. Long sleeves, room to move (or have that extra mince pie) and just right for relaxing in at home and if you’re heading out, just pop on a necklace to contrast the masculine edge.

Top tip: Treat the boyfriend sweater as you would a chunky knit and keep your lower half fitted.

4. The bobble hat

If you don’t have a faur fur pom pom bobble hat, where have you been?! This has to be the ultimate: fuchsia and navy (always a winning combo) and the pom pom is HUGE, which as with all oversized accessories, makes you look smaller.

Top tip: Wear it when your outfit and coat are neutral to really make the pink pop.

5. The Christmas jumper

Never more so has The Christmas Jumper been a must-have because long-gone are the days of the knitted cheese-fest being cringeworthy. I still like to keep it chic though so I opt for fairisle pattern knits for a festive casual look and sparkly, embellished knits for a smarter, dressed-up look (video tips here).

Top tip: For this casual outfit I paired the sweater with a check shirt; a print clash is easiest to wear if you choose coordinating colours. Ground the look with denim and neutral accessories.
