When it comes to everyday mum style you can’t get much easier than a simple jeans, boots and sweater outfit; it’s certainly my go-to in a hurry. Today I mixed this up a bit and added some new season trends into the mix.
Simple style formula
Printed trousers – I went for an on-trend winter floral print but if flowers aren’t your thing, try a graphic monochrome print which is just as current.
Plain sweater – In this case, navy, because black can sometimes be too stark against a lighter-based print.
Leather jacket – Keeping it simple with a collarless quilted number and rolled-up cuffs; it’s all in the detail because long sleeves make arms appear shorter.
Faux fur scarf – With a nip in the air first thing in the morning this is perfect over a short jacket. Navy is less dressy than black but smarter than natural-look furs for those times you do want to wear it in the evening.
Neutral cross-body bag – A mama must-have. But you knew that already, right?
The perfect boot – This boot has to be the school run style essential. OK, so maybe a leather boot would be better for damp days but a spritz of waterproofing spray on suede is just right for now. For heel height and width, toe shape and ankle height, these ASH boots are just right for mum-ing in and they flatter and go with everything: shorts, dresses, jeans, trousers, leather leggings, yep, that’s all you need! Oh and they’re so comfortable too.
