School run style | Your inspiration starts here

what to wear on the school run | style inspiration for mums | mum style blog | mum fashion blog | cocomamastyleWith the children heading back to school over the next few weeks and my eldest – as well as many many others – starting primary school for the first time, my thoughts are going to the school run.  Of course the new uniform purchasing, obligatory name-labeling and reading Topsy & Tim Start School are all important parts of taking the big step from nursery to school, but without wanting to show-off, we’ve done all that already. (Don’t worry, I’m not usually this organised).

So naturally, as a stylist, blogger and mum I am, whether you like it or not, putting together some posts on school run style.  Now I’m not saying I think mothers have to dress a certain way, or should necessarily even care at 8am on a wet Wednesday morning, but what I do know is that it does matter to many of us. And to me, getting Coco Lily to school on time each day will be a mission, so any planning and organisation – be it a simple fail-safe mum-uniform or having the perfect multi-use bag packed and ready for all occasions – is going to be key to ensure we’re not racing to beat the school bell.

Feel free, of course, to mentally switch the phrase ‘school run‘ to ‘easy style‘ or ‘casual wear‘ as you see fit but it’s basically the same style that works under each bracket.  So whether you’ve got school-age children, tots, a newborn or even grandchildren, see these posts as your sartorial tips and inspiration for every day style.

Bookmark this page in your browser or pin this page to Pinterest as every time I share a school run outfit of my own, easy autumn style tips and practical but of course stylish outfit solutions I will add them to this one page for easy reference.  And of course follow my outfits on Instagram as I share my personal style daily through the new term.

So when you need a last minute idea of what to grab when you jump out of the shower, it’s right here ready for you because mama style isn’t code for boring, it actually translates (in my book!) as “I’m stylish and I happen to be a mum too”.

And if you’ve a little one starting nursery, or school with no uniform, read my post from last year on creating the perfect capsule wardrobe for play days.
