Despite the forecast today being showery I opted to defy the MET Office, keep my legs out and don my favourite shorts. I’m determined to catch every fleeting moment of sunshine while it’s here and much prefer getting my legs out than my arms. So on these changeable weather days I throw on a light sweater or tee and light jacket with my favourite shorts. The boots come out if it’s set to be wet, otherwise it’s sandals for day and pointed courts for evening.
I kept my outfit to washed out nudes and white with a tiny splash of colour in the form of a fuchsia feather keychain added to the bag and added a metallic touch with layered bracelets and thin chains. I’d dress this up with bright heels and add a metallic clutch and chunkier necklace for evening.
If you follow me on instagram (@cocomamastyle) you will notice I have worn these shorts a lot. We’re talking at least twice a week at the moment, and yes, that’s a lot of washing and Vanish! But they’re such a great fit, comfortable and go with all my summer wardrobe.
The shorts are also a great starting point to build an outfit around and I treat them just as I would with a blue denim short or jeans. Today was the perfect opportunity to give this ICHI draped sweater an outing. The knit has just the right amount of sheen to it to hint at a rose gold look without looking shiny and, well, cheap. It’s also supersoft and drapes in the right places with plenty of room inside for nursing mums to accommodate a newborn and flatter that post-birth tum.
