4 ways to wear | print trousers

Whilst browsing online (research, obvs!) I decided I needed a new pair of print trousers in my wardrobe.  I’m blaming the cold weather and my willing it to be spring already but I spotted a pair on ASOS for just £10 and couldn’t resist.  In an attempt to justify this – yes, even at just £10 it’s always important to ensure that anything you buy is versatile – I put together a few ideas of ways to wear these trousers to get the most out of them, so by autumn the cost per wear is going to easily be less than pennies.

How to style

To show you just how versatile and easy to wear a pair of printed trousers are I am sharing with you 4 different ways to wear them.  I will more than likely wear them with some form of heel 99.9% of the time but I guarantee you will have a plain black or white trainer (for a sports luxe vibe), flat suede boot (for a boho look) or jewelled flat (for  smart-to-evening style) all of which would work perfectly.

4 ways to wear: printed trouser

All ASOS

1.  A top or button-up shirt in the brightest colour of the print will smarten up your outfit.  Tuck in and pop on a blazer.  Give extra polish by adding a necklace over the top.

2.  Be brave and print clash.  Stripes are practically a neutral in my opinion so don’t be afraid.  Stick to lines in colours picked up from the print and you can’t go wrong.

3.  If in doubt, team a printed trouser with a plain neutral (in this case, black) top.  Dress down with trainers or plimsolls and a chunky knit, or denim or leather jacket.  Dress up with a bold necklace.  A looser fit shell style top will skim your tum or you can create curves with a structured peplum top and skinny belt around your waist.

4.  A white top will really make the outfit pop.  Again, you’ll give off a fresh, sporty vibe when teamed with trainers and when the mercury rises wear with a flat metallic sandal or block heel.

Notes: These are made from a thin fabric so I wore mine with light leggings/footless tights underneath while out and about earlier this week.
TOP TIP: when you have a potentially clingy fabric over tights? Spray your tights with hair spray before putting on your top layer, it will repel and reduce static!
