Competition and Valentine’s style with La Redoute

I may be going soft as I grow older but this year I feel a little more excited about St. Valentine’s Day.  Perhaps it’s because I now have a ring on that finger (read on for more!) but I’ve come over all romantic this February and what better way to celebrate the most romantic day of the year than with a red-themed style post and a competition for your chance to win a monthly treat for you (or a loved one if you’re feeling generous!).

Valentine’s Day Style

Whether a night out is on the cards or a cosy night in, it would be rude not to wear red on Valentine’s Day.  Being one of the coldest months of the year (yes, I know I have bare legs in the photos but I have an aversion to tights and it wasn’t that nippy!) what better way to bring a splash of crimson into a look than with a cosy knit, accented with red nails and lips.

I’m often wary of teaming black with red as it can feel a little vampy for my liking but combining the girly tulle polka dot skirt with quilted leather and a 50’s silhouette with cinched waist adds a prim twist.  Texture, colour, print and a flash of metallic; a winning style combination in my book.  And my shoe motto? If in doubt, wear leopard.

The CocoMama #LaRomance story

I shared my story with La Redoute and now with you, and if you follow me on twitter and instagram you may have noticed something exciting happened this Christmas!

“As much of a cliche as it sounds, the moment my boyfriend proposed this Christmas has to be the most romantic thing to happen to me.  After 8 years together (and 2 daughters!) a proposal on Christmas morning while opening presents with our girls couldn’t have felt more romantic.

As I opened a little blue bag to find a box with a beautiful diamond ring inside I knew this was exactly how it should be.  Of course I said ‘yes’ and my next gift was a bottle of champagne.

A diamond, some bubbly, my (now!) fiancé and our two daughters; a perfect Christmas indeed.”
