Festive fashion for little ones

I can’t deny that having two little girls to dress is really quite fun and with Christmas just around the corner what better excuse to get a bit of sparkle into their wardrobes.

I’ve long been a fan of supermarket kids wear for inexpensive basics and seasonal must-haves so it was a treat for F&F to invite us to select some Christmas party wear from their children’s clothing collection up to the value of £50 to style up a junior look. Just imagine how much you can get for £50 I thought!

When putting an outfit together on a budget – whether for yourself or your tots – it’s always good to think about pieces that can be worn together or separately for different occasions.  They grow out of everything so quickly you want to get the most wear out of it while you can. And if your child is as opinionated as my Coco Lily (bless her!) about what they wear, at least you’ll have some chance that they’ll pick an almost coordinated outfit from the selection you’ve bought.

The other key factors I think about – particularly for this season – are that an outfit must be cosy and comfortable and also have Coco appeal, so that’s anything sparkly or pink!

In our (online) shopping trolley:girls christmas party wear

Faux fur gilet – ticks all the boxes for cute, mini-me style.

Knitted headband – perfect for taming windswept locks and keeping ears warm.

Sequin bow sweater – fluffy and sparkly, what more could a little girl want?

Check skirt – a girly nod to one of season’s biggest trends to dress up with sparkle or down with thick ribbed tights and boots.

Bow print tights – picking up on the bow of the sweater to dress up the look for a party.  (Sold in a pack of 2 with a black and gold polka dot pair.

Lace pumps – pretty, Cinderella shoes for party time or Christmas day.
