Mama must-have | Jojo Maman Bebe breton top

JojoMamanBebe stripe top review cocomamastyleA must-have in many a wardrobe is the breton top; a mum-staple if you will.  So you won’t be surprised if I suggest it as a maternity style essential too.

But where to find the best?  Look no further than stripey-mama favourite, Jojo Maman Bebe.  With a choice of 4 colours in a classic fit this simple piece will see you through your pregnancy and beyond.

The bump test drive

Jojo Maman Bebe breton top | review | instagram cocomamastyle

I tried the ecru top with black stripes and loved the straight, comfortable fit in all-important super-soft cotton which fit snugly around my 3rd trimester bump and is looser on the arms.

I wish I’d had the top throughout my pregnancy as it would work well in the early days to skim your growing tummy and last right up to post-birth with its straight fit which manages to hug your bump while it’s there yet doesn’t have the tell-tale side seam ruching like many pregnancy tops, making them either cling to your deflated tum or sag once baby is out – neither of which is likely to do anything for your body confidence.

The sleeves come up quite long (this was also commented in online reviews) but it isn’t a problem in my experience as I often roll-up cuffs and there’s nothing worse than your sleeves shrinking too short in the wash!  Which, by the way this top hasn’t done – the fabric is still soft, stretchy and comfy even after washing and wearing regularly.
