No matter how old you are, September must bring back memories of the new school term and with it (for me!), new shoes and that meant a trip to Clarks. But of course this doesn’t have to end when you’re all grown up and you only have to take one look at the new season drop at Clarks this year to realise they are up there in the style stakes for us mamas too these days.
Just think of the comfort that comes with different width fittings, half sizes and soft soles, then throw on-trend colours and shapes into the mix and you’ve got yourself the perfect new season footwear for work, rest (yeah, right!) and play.
Take a look at the CocoMamaStyle pick of the best shoes and boots Clarks have to offer this season, conveniently grouped below to make it easier for you to browse by style and trend…
Patent plum
A key colour for the new season and a patent finish will always add a luxe look to your outfit. Dress it down with jeans or team your shiny shoes with a sharp suit for the office.
Neutral wedge boots
A low(ish) wedge heel is every mama’s best friend if you crave leg lengthening and height and a neutral tone will go with everything. These trainer styles are great for the school run or play dates and the snakeskin-look booties can take you from office to evening and will work with anything from a sleek shift dress to leggings with a slouchy knit.
Pure and simple flats
Taking last season’s smoking slipper to a more substantial, grown-up shoe these elegant flats work with the masculine trend for AW13 with sleek trousers. If you’re apprehensive of this trend work in some print and colour to your outfit for a feminine edge.
Buckle-up boots
Thanks to Chloe’s buckle boots which saw a sea of copycat looks on the high street last Autumn/Winter the multi-buckle style is set to stay for another season as designer looks filter further into the mainstream – great news if you invested in a pair last Winter. If not, jump on the buckle bandwagon now.
Metal hardware
Another two trends set to stay are the metal toe cap vs. studded heel. On the glam side of the spectrum these styles will take your look up a notch and see you through to the party season.
Lace-ups for lazy days
In contrast to the pointed toes and skinny heels above, these three lace-ups will see you through the Autumn days in comfort. Slip them on with a printed dress or your favourite slouchy jeans and you’re good to go.
Smart boots
If you want to smarten up your look go for smooth leather or suede for a sleek finish in a classic colour or fail-safe black.
The patent plum ones are amazing! Thank you for this post. I will definitely check them on the site.
