Mama makes: DIY change bag

If you’re handy with a sewing machine and have an expanding bump, this is the perfect project for those first few weeks of maternity leave before your baby arrives.

This isn’t one of CocoMama’s own makes but that of a dear friend, Louise, who’s expecting her first baby in just a few weeks.  I didn’t even think to attempt a change bag before Coco Lily arrived – thinking it would be too complex – but with this easy to follow tutorial from the brilliant A Mingled Yarn blog, Louise ran up a beautifully well made and totally unique change bag. Where else could you get one to match your personality and style than to make it yourself.

I love the clashing lining  and quirky prints used and the inside has all the handy pockets you need for all your new baby paraphernalia.

Not settling for just the bag, Louise also put her sewing machine to work on a travel change mat. Using wipe clean fabric, backed with matching skull print the mat folds neatly and fastens with Velcro to fit perfectly inside the change bag. What a great way to create your own bespoke baby gear.
