Kate Middleton Pregnant Style

Maternity wear fit for a Duchess

Kate Middleton Pregnant Style

It didn’t take long after last year’s Royal Wedding  for rumours to start circulating about a pregnancy, but now there’s officially a Royal bun in the, er, Aga, there’s even more speculation, opinion and comment on the Duke and Duchess and their future heir to the throne.

So how about we leave Wills and Kate alone to enjoy this incredible journey they are embarking upon and let them do it however they want, in peace…

…while we day dream about all the beautiful maternity outfits Kate might wear!

Where to shop

I’m predicting Kate will stick to her trademark elegant style, choosing higher end maternity brands like Vanessa Knox, Isabella Oliver, Keungzai and Blossom Mother & Child.

What to wearKate & William engagement

Think ladylike coats, luxe draped jersey and figure flattering shapes in a Royal colour palette for the obligatory engagements and muted tones for smart day wear.  This blue Vanessa Knox dress is more than a little reminiscent of THAT Issa engagement look (right).  Those classic Issa dress shapes will also work really well as maternity wear and are stocked in Blossom Mother & Child for that exact reason.  Proving you can still wear some of your pre-bump clothes – not that the Press would let Kate get away with that one.

Must-have mama-to-be heelsLK BENNETT court shoe Kate Middleton

Kate’s penchant for LK Bennett shoes needn’t be put on hold for 9 months as their trusty courts and wedges are also designed with a much more pregnancy-friendly lower heel too (right).

Duchess style on a budget

Eventhough we can’t all be a Duchess (no, we’re not envious, not one bit, honest), these outfits would make great workwear and occasion looks for any mama-to-be.  If your budget can’t stretch to some of these beautiful brands you will find similar shapes from more affordable brands such as ASOS and Mama.Licious online, while Marks and Spencer does some great low-heeled courts for that Duchess-inspired look.
