Fly the GB flag with Next

Now that the Diamond Jubilee celebrations are just a memory,  there’s another excuse to get all patriotic (no, you can leave the footie shorts to the boys) with the Olympics.  As the official outfitter for the GB teams, Next have also created some great designs for all the family but as anyone who reads cocomamastyle will know I have quite a penchant for scarves.  So when the Postman arrived with a beautifully boxed treat thanks to the lovely people at Next I was thrilled to add a new scarf to my accessory wardrobe.

I received the large Paralympic scarf which fortunately was my personal favourite of the 4 scarves available; less white on it to get grubby around little ones and big enough to wear in endless ways.  And it’s the one Kate wore when meeting team GB, so what better style queen, or rather Duchess, to inspire us.

Here, (in a very rare occurrence!) I show you how I styled it on myself

My, what I call, styles, clockwise from top left:
The Air Hostess, perfect for smartening up jeans or work wear.
The Headband, think Sixties chic. Best teamed with a backcombed ‘do’.
The Baby bandana, when you’ve forgotten the sun hat a quick scarf tied around protects little heads and necks (seen on Abbey and Peter’s little lady Sophia, don’t y’know).
The Cowboy, a personal favourite worn pretty much every day.
The Royalist, for a right royal twist to a simple sweater. Do not, repeat do not team with calf length pleats. You have been warned.
The Girl with the Pearl Neck Scarf, fold scarf corner to corner and roll up then twist around a long necklace and tie the ends.
The Shrug, protect shoulders from the sun or hide those upper arms in an instant.
The Bandana, a beach hair cover-up for your hols.

And another reason I nearly always wear a large scarf; an instant sleep shade for the buggy…

How will you wear yours?
